Best breakfast? In the week, a bowl of muesli and at weekends I love a runny egg and bacon sarnie
Perfect pastime? Fishing on the estuary for sea bass on a sunny summer’s day and then picking samphire
Best bit of Britain? Very hard to choose but I do love the coast line around the South East, from North Norfolk down to Orwell
You would never know it but... I was in the territorial army for five years

Native alternatives would be Honeysuckle (white admiral food plant), old man's beard (many moths), blackberry (lots of moths), Ivy (Holly Blue) or Bird Cherry. Viper's bugloss is a good plant to attract bumblebees. Almost all bumblebee species love it, and it looks great too! It flowers from June-August. It is a biennial plant, so you will need to collect and sow a few seeds each year to ensure you always have some flowering.

Any ideas for a native alternative to Buddleia to attract butterflies

I think it is an excellent idea to help our wildlife and I will be doing my part
