Kirsten's Nutty Apple Crumble
Posted by Jordans Cereals 17 Oct 2008 5:38pm
You can't get better than a warming, filling crumble for an autumn pudding. You might recognise this recipe from the November issue of Red magazine where we are featured.
Prep time; 10 minutes, cooking time; 25 minutes, serves 4
800g cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
2 tbsp brown sugar
Juice of half a lemon
For the topping:
175g Jordans Nut & Seed Muesli
75g brown sugar
100g plain flour
85g butter
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Cook the apple, sugar and lemon juice in a pan over a low heat until the apple has softened, then then tip it into four ramekins or one large oven proof dish. In a bowl combine the muesli, brown sugar, flour and butter and mix with fingertips into a breadcrumb type mixture. Spread evenly over the top of the apple mixture. Bake in the oven for around 25 minutes until the top is browned and crisp. Eat warm with ice cream or natural yogurt, yummy!

My favourite breakfast cereal with my favourite pudding. My comment has to be DELICIOUS!!
I'll need to try this. Looks like a much healthier alternative to the usual crumble. I hate mushy topping and this looks like it'll have a bit of a crunch.
Love crumbles (and cookies). If I can make them healthier, can I eat more of them without feeling guilty ?
Absolutely delicious - needed to make that again
i'd never thought of using this for crumble but now it seems so obviousl!!
