Feel Good Be Happy

World Conker Championships

Posted by Rachel Marston 05 Oct 2009 12:22pm

At the weekend I noticed a freshly shed batch of conkers on the ground and was taken back to memories of my brother aged 7 running a series of baking, drilling and vinegar soaking experiments in the kitchen. We never did perfect the recipe for creating an unstoppable conker though not for want of trying. On the 11th October the World Conker Championships will be held in Northamptonshire, entries are now closed but you can still go and spectate and aside from the obvious conker thrashing competition there will also be a folk band, bouncy castle, face painting and plenty of stalls to meander through, click here for more information.
