Nature Friendly Farming helps reduce wildlife losses

Posted by Rachel Marston 15 Mar 2010 12:08pm

Some of you may have seen an article published in The Guardian last week about a study Natural England had undertaken which showed we are losing more than two species a year in the UK. We were pleased the issue has been highlighted as the Conservation Grade scheme of farming Bill Jordan set up in 1985 is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Our 'nature friendly' farmers put a huge amount of effort into managing 10% of thier land specifically to benefit wildlife. So for example, they grow hedgerows, plant areas of bird food and build ponds. You can find out more about Conservation Grade and what our nature friendly farmers do by clicking here.
